Obstetrics and Gynecology is a medical field that focuses on women’s health. It includes two main areas: obstetrics, which deals with pregnancy and childbirth, and gynecology, which focuses on the health of the female reproductive system.
Obstetrics involves the care of women during pregnancy, childbirth, and the time after delivery. Obstetricians monitor the health of both the mother and baby, also provide guidance on nutrition, exercise, and overall care during pregnancy, and manage labor and delivery to ensure a safe birth.
Gynecology is concerned with the female reproductive system and includes the diagnosis and treatment of conditions like menstrual problems, fertility issues, and conditions such as fibroids, endometriosis, or pelvic health concerns. Gynecologists also provide preventive care, such as routine exams, screenings, and birth control services.

An intrauterine device that is T-shaped and is placed in the uterus through the
cervix. It is a reversible contraceptive that can be done in a doctor’s's office.
Intrauterine Insemination (IUI) Treatment for infertile women- During an intrauterine insemination (IUI) procedure, sperm is placed directly into the uterus using a small catheter. Laparoscopy in gynecology (laparoscopy) is a less invasive alternative to open surgery.
The procedure involves using a laparoscope (a long, thin tube with a light connected to
a camera) to look inside the pelvic area to diagnose gynecological disorders or to
perform surgery to treat gynecological conditions. A small incision is made over the
abdomen through which the laparoscope is inserted. Two to three other small incisions
may be made to insert specialized surgical instruments. Open surgery is more invasive
and usually requires a large incision. Healing is also generally faster with laparoscopic
procedures.
Daycare Surgery
A procedure to quickly remove abnormal vaginal tissue within the cervix. A shunt is an anesthetic, and a solution to enhance the points of removal visually is administered during the process. There is a chance of experiencing watery, pinkish discharge, brownish discharge, and mild cramping.
A daycare procedure to open (dilate) the cervix to collect samples of endometrial tissue with a curette. A D&C can also be done to remove a foetus that has not passed naturally after a miscarriage or to induce an abortion.
Hysteroscopy is a daycare gynecologic procedure in which your doctor examines the inside of your uterus to diagnose and treat abnormal bleeding. During a hysteroscope, your physician will insert the hysteroscope—a thin tube with a light on the end, into the vagina, through the cervix, and into the uterus. A hysteroscope can be used as either a diagnostic procedure or a treatment procedure.
